I've never believed in choosing just one way to create. Oil, pencil, charcoal — each speaks a different language, and I love moving between them depending on what I'm trying to express. Some stories need the richness and depth of oil paint, others come alive best in the raw, stripped-back honesty of charcoal or pencil.
Much of my work is African inspired, shaped by the places I've been lucky enough to travel to and the landscapes that have stayed with me long after I've left them. I'm drawn to the ocean, the outdoors, and quiet moments in nature. They show up again and again in my pieces, whether directly or in the mood behind them.
I'm based in Cape Town, South Africa, where I work from my garden cottage that doubles as a studio and my escape. It's a small, peaceful space and it's exactly where I need to be to create, away from the noise and chaos, somewhere I can become fully present.
For the past ten years, I built a career in marketing and brand management — creative direction, brand storytelling, campaign ideas. In many ways, it was just another form of creative expression, and I loved it. But recently becoming a mom shifted my priorities and gave me the push to finally pursue art full-time, allowing me the flexibility to be present for my family while still creating every day.
Each piece I make is one of a kind. I work exclusively in originals, no prints, because for me, art is about that singular moment of expression, and I want you to fully own that moment in time and know that your piece is unique.
